Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Emergency Department team in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to work in a dynamic emergency care setting on beautiful Martha’s Vineyard.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of two years of Emergency Department experience and be comfortable evaluating and managing patients with a variety of acute illnesses and injuries.
This is a full-time temporary assignment for approximately 6–9 months, requiring 40 hours per week and a commitment to three backup shifts per month.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patients presenting to the Emergency Department, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
Assess, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and injuries.
Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging within the provider’s scope of practice.
Develop treatment plans and perform appropriate clinical procedures.
Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Respond effectively to emergency situations and prioritize patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required.
Current certification and eligibility to practice in Massachusetts.
Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced emergency care environment.
Availability to work 40 hours per week and commit to 3 backup shifts per month.
Willingness to commit to a 6–9 month assignment.
New graduates are not eligible.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive compensation of $100 per hour.
