All-Genz MediMatch Recruit is recruiting a Clinical Director of Adult Medicine on behalf of an established community health organization serving Hartford and Windsor. This position combines direct patient care with departmental leadership and is suited to a Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician who is ready to influence clinical quality, provider performance, and the patient experience.

The Opportunity
The Adult Medicine Department includes an NCQA-recognized diabetes program, a high-performing Ryan White program, and a robust Care Coordination Team. Working in partnership with the Nurse Manager, Practice Manager, and Director of Infectious Diseases, the Clinical Director will provide clinical and operational leadership while maintaining an active patient-care practice.
Experienced physician leaders are encouraged to apply. The organization will also consider physicians with limited formal administrative experience who demonstrate sound clinical judgment, leadership potential, accountability, and a genuine commitment to serving medically and socially complex populations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality direct clinical care within Adult Medicine.
• Lead the continuous improvement of clinical operations, provider workflow, patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, and financial performance.
• Partner with nursing, practice management, infectious disease leadership, care coordination, and other departments to support effective team-based care.
• Supervise, coach, and support physicians, APRNs, PAs, and other clinical team members.
• Participate in provider recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance management, and disciplinary processes when required.
• Develop and advance department goals that align with organizational strategy and community needs.
• Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor clinical quality, compliance, patient-care standards, and ongoing professional practice evaluation.
• Collect, analyze, and present clinical and operational data to support evidence-based decisions.
• Contribute to cross-functional and enterprise-level initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Eligibility for appropriate Connecticut physician licensure and credentialing.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Commitment to caring for underserved populations with complex medical and social needs.
• Experience supervising or collaborating closely with advanced practice providers.
• Knowledge of compliance, quality, and professional practice standards relevant to adult primary care.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with clinical staff, administrative leaders, patients, and external partners.
• Comfort using electronic health record systems and data to guide decisions.
• Sound judgment, initiative, discretion, resourcefulness, and accountability.
Leadership Experience
Prior experience as a Clinical Director, Associate Director, medical leader, or physician leader within a large health center or private practice is preferred. Physicians with less formal administrative experience will be considered when their record demonstrates leadership potential, clinical credibility, team-building ability, and readiness to grow into broader responsibility.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated annual compensation range is $220,000 to $292,500. Final compensation will reflect the successful candidate's
