Position overview:
This full time daytime hospitalist position joins a team staffed with two physicians and two
advanced practice providers. The schedule follows four days on and four days off with no call. The organization
may train the right candidate in critical care because the Geneva hospital has broader clinical resources and
team support.

Clinical responsibilities:
• Provide inpatient hospitalist care for adult medical and surgical patients in collaboration with physicians
and the APP team.
• Complete histories and physicals, daily assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, medication
management, and discharge coordination within the provider's privileges.
• Order and interpret laboratory testing, diagnostic studies, and other clinical information with appropriate
physician collaboration.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including patients who require critical care evaluation or management.
• Coordinate care with nursing, pharmacy, therapy, case management, specialists, and other hospital
services.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, follow up care, and discharge instructions.
Critical care training and support:
The employer may train the right candidate in critical care. The Geneva day team includes two physicians and two APPs, and the hospital has additional resources to support a provider who has a strong hospital medicine foundation and is prepared to expand critical care skills.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with current or eligible New York State licensure and registration.
• Current national board certification appropriate to the provider's discipline.
• Hospital medicine, medical surgical, telemetry, emergency, stepdown, or critical care experience is preferred.
• Candidates without extensive critical care experience may be considered when their inpatient foundation, clinical judgment, and readiness to learn support a safe training plan.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a physician and APP team and manage a consistent four days on and four days off schedule.
Schedule and additional compensation:
The contract requires 162 shifts per year and provides 20 PTO days. Shifts are balanced each quarter. Providers who work beyond their contracted shift requirement receive additional compensation in addition to base salary.
The Geneva schedule follows four days on and four days off with no call.
Compensation and benefits:
The posted base salary range is $115000 to $135000, with final compensation based on experience and qualifications. The direct hire package includes a comprehensive benefits program. Student loan repayment, a sign on bonus, and relocation assistance may be available when applicable.
