The Infection Control Program Supervisor is the primary contact for our dental infection control and prevention program which includes all our systems of policies, procedures, and practices that minimize the risk of transmission of pathogenic microorganisms. Their basic function is to work with the center’s dental team to prevent healthcare-associated infection in patients and prevent injuries and illnesses in healthcare personnel.
The Infection Control Program Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, management, and monitoring of infection control policies and procedures. Duties include but are not limited to: orienting and training new staff on infection control protocols, annually reviewing policies and competencies for staff, and monitoring compliance through audits, checklists and observation
Qualifications: Current MA Dental Assistant License required. Training in infection control theory and practice. 2 or more years of experience in a community health center and|or a clinical environment performing infection control duties as a practicing licensed dental assistant. Excellent communication skills; written and spoken. Proven customer service skills. Proven organizational skills. Computer literacy: Basic Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word and Outlook. Within 6 months of hire, obtain relevant Joint Commission certification for sterilization| instrument processing.
